Why we are living ?

We are living definitely because of some objectives. Objectives of life changes with time and so as the meaning of life. Objectives are not same for all of us. It depends on priorities and values of the individuals.

Why we are living ? This is not a specific questions as it is driven by time and many external factors. Sometime we loose our meaning of life, sometime we have many of them at a time. I have undergone different scenarios and situations. So, my objectives of life change with the time line . Here are 10 of them.

1. Living just for I have to live – I don’t have any objective or I haven’t thought about it

2. Living for enjoyment as this life is for enjoying different tests and to earn lot of money

3. Living for execution of certain objectives, to meet my goals, these goals are variable and I revisit it regularly, modify these with time and circumstances

4. Living for seeing different countries, meet different people and explore adventurous places

5. Living for my family and parents as I love them most

6. Live to be famous – in any way

7. Living for my country/religion/community – to contribute and enhance one of it as living is just believing some specific idealism – and to be adhered with it

8. Live to complete my path, be a good student, be a successful person, good family man, and transfer the knowledge to predecessors

9. Live to accrue knowledge, contribute to specific research, society and as a whole the whole human civilization in general

10. Live to rule, to beat, to compete, to win by any means. Because winning means living, rest are as good as dead.

What is your objective of life? Please put a comment.

Quoted from someone: "Anything is one of a million paths. Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions. To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life. Only then will you know that any path is only a path and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do. But your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition. I warn you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary.
This question is one that only a very old man asks. Does this path have a heart? All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush, or into the bush. In my own life I could say I have traversed long long paths, but I am not anywhere. Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.

Before you embark on any path ask the question: Does this path have a heart? If the answer is no, you will know it, and then you must choose another path. The trouble is nobody asks the question; and when a man finally realizes that he has taken a path without a heart, the path is ready to kill him. At that point very few men can stop to deliberate, and leave the path. A path without a heart is never enjoyable. You have to work hard even to take it. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy; it does not make you work at liking it.
I have told you that to choose a path you must be free from fear and ambition. The desire to learn is not ambition. It is our lot as men to want to know.
The path without a heart will turn against men and destroy them. It does not take much to die, and to seek death is to seek nothing.

For me there is only the traveling on the paths that have a heart, on any path that may have a heart. There I travel, and the only worthwhile challenge for me is to traverse its full length. And there I travel--looking, looking, breathlessly."

I believe in this in my life.

anwesha ghosh: I believe without any vision, life is looking like a unknown blind way where I could not get any particular path. As a result life becomes meaning less, just like -(living just I have to live). But I have many of objectives in my life . First of all I m living for my family, specially for my parents because they give me their identity and brought up me for living a good life. I am also living for my dreams, desires. I m living to be a good human being and to be a good citizen .That’s all .At last I just want to say that, I am living for seeing the different stages of life which full of enjoyment, happiness, sorrows and many of other scenarios. I want to face of all things. In one words I says that I want to be a complete person to live a good healthy prosperous life .That’s make me happy and then I will be satisfied with my life .I just believe life is one so that we need to live for every different scenarios. Because every day goes and that will never come back. So live life which is full of enjoyment. If we do not encounter many scenarios in our life then how will we know what life is? I believe in this way.

Why we are Living ? the question in itself is a very difficult one,, for its like asking the mountain why it stands and the seas why it rolls! might sound a bit philosophical but answering this question is as difficult as describing oneself without any prejudices and honestly...Life for each of us holds its own values and priorities some trivial ,some big and some dynamic...For many Life is living its every moment to the fullest , while to others it is a process of serving others while for many others its a journey of duties and responsibilities...the options seem infinitesimally many and confusing..for many a times Life opens before us many paths which all look equally lucrative but then there is the real test of character ..to choose the correct path. However even if we fail to choose the correct path we can be rest assured that : what has happened has happened for a reason ! So while we regret for what we have failed to achieve we should always trust in the fact that no effort goes in vain : for its all a part of the big plan of "Life"..even it can be justified by simple physics in a way that our efforts are equivalent to inputs so there must and will be an output..maybe at times the output is painstakingly far off from our view.

Before i end i would say that in my own perspective the question "Why am I Living?" is a real mystery whose little surprises are unfolded each day before me ..teaching me new lessons and making me wiser by the day..that the best way to achieve your aims is to give unselfish dedication towards your goals..Hope that by the end of my journey i do realize all my aims and dreams and my duties.
